Jeffrey Scharf is a playwright, bookwriter, lyricist and songwriter.  His holiday show “The Three Tales (Gifts) of Christmas” was commissioned and produced by the Elite Theatre Company.  His musical “Reunions” (music by Jimmy Calire) received its debut production at OYES.  He was the lyricist for “Divine Encounter” produced by the Academy for New Musical Theater.  He has written book, music and lyrics for “Who’s Got Me?” which was excerpted at Musical Café’s Fall 2016 Showcase.  His “Banana Slugs Fight Song” was heard in the movie “The Baxter.” 


He is a co-writer of “Life in the Slow Lane” recorded by Roberta Donnay and “I Don’t Want to Know” recorded by Spencer Day.  Non-theatrical writings include a long-running career as newspaper columnist for the Santa Cruz Sentinel.


His newest show is “David Copperfield, The New Musical” which made its debut at Mountain Community Theater’s New Works Night in August 2017l and had a full production run to sell outs for every performance December 13 - 23, 2018 at The Colligan Theater in Santa Cruz.


Jeffrey is a member of the Dramatists Guild and ANMT.
