SYNOPSIS
Adapted from Charles Dickens’ favorite novel, “Young David Copperfield” follows David's childhood tribulations from his happy early years through the dark days of his mother’s second marriage and beyond. Young David endures the sadism of his step-father Murdstone, the depredations of the villainous schoolmaster Creakle, and the mind-numbing routine of the London sweatshop to which he is consigned after the death of his mother. Along the way, he meets some of Dickens’ most memorable characters: the sea-faring Peggotty family, the monosyllabic coachman Barkis, the grandiloquent Mr. Micawber and his formidable Aunt Betsey.
Particularly suitable for schools and Young People's theater.
